# Pages basics

_Rich block-based documents with real-time collaboration._

Canonical: https://snoze.dev/help/pages-basics/

Pages are Snoze's documents: block-based, collaborative, and fast. A page can
be a meeting note, a spec, a wiki article, or a landing surface that embeds
live data from the rest of your workspace. This is the conceptual overview;
the walkthroughs below go step by step.

## Everything is a block

A page is a tree of blocks, not one wall of text. Each paragraph, heading,
list item, image, or embed is its own block you can move, duplicate, or turn
into something else. Type `/` anywhere to open the insert menu — text and
headings, bulleted, numbered, and to-do lists, toggles, quotes, callouts,
code, dividers, images, bookmarks, and embeds — and structural blocks like
columns.

Some blocks pull the rest of Snoze into the page: a **database view** renders a
live table or board inline, a **metric** shows a running aggregate over a
database, a **button** runs an action, and a **page link** embeds another item.
Because these are real blocks backed by workspace data, they stay current
without you copying anything.

## Writing feels native

The editor is one continuous document, so selection, copy, and paste work
across block boundaries exactly like a normal text editor — no jumping between
disconnected fields. Markdown shortcuts turn `# ` into a heading, `- ` into a
list, and `**bold**` into bold as you type. Drag a block by its handle to
reorder it, or drop one against another's side edge to create columns.
[Keyboard shortcuts](https://snoze.dev/help/keyboard-shortcuts/) cover the moves worth learning.

Type `@` to mention a person, another item, or a date. Item mentions become
two-way links: the page you mention shows a **Linked mentions** list at the
bottom, so you can always trace what points back to it.

## Collaboration and history

Pages are real-time. Teammates' edits appear as they type, and text editing
merges cleanly even when two people work the same paragraph. Select any text
and leave a **comment** — the thread lives on the page until it's resolved.
Every edit is captured in **version history**, reachable from the page's ⋯
menu, so you can browse earlier revisions and restore one if needed.

## Sharing

Share a page with specific teammates, your whole workspace, or publish it as a
[public link](https://snoze.dev/help/share-with-a-public-link/) that anyone can read without an
account. Pages and notes render in full for public visitors.

> [!TIP]
> Structure beats folders. A single parent page with child pages nested under
> it keeps a project's context together and lets you share the whole bundle at
> once by sharing the parent.
